Hi All,

Trying to find a venue in Atlanta for Sorority Fundraiser for roughly 300-350 people. Our formula is very limiting, but maybe someone out there knows of a place. We want to do an outdoor concert this July (small local band already booked), in a private setting so we can control who benefits from the concert (can't make money if you can stand across the street and see everything), and we want our attendees to be able to bring in their own food, sort of the same feel as attending a concert at Chastain. Any venue ideas? I have been in contact with a couple of places that do outdoor weddings, but most are strict about outside catering. Other places would work but have noise ordinances, and the place I was originally working with (the Cascade Club in South West Atlanta) double booked us and have left us high and dry. Any ideas?

While I was in Nashville over the weekend a fraternity (don't know which or from which school) had some sort of ball at the Sheraton Music City (by the airport). They rented out the conference room. I'm not sure if they catered or what...I just saw a whole lot of formally dressed people. They kept bleeding out into the lobby and came into the bar to further socialize (don't mean for that to sound bad, using bleeding, it wasn't...just to show that they didn't hole up in the conference room).

Perhaps there are some hotels you can call? You may have already tried that...

Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers. Not sure about the food issue. I think you'll find them under city of Conyers. Good luck!

I went to a small fund-raiser concert several years ago outside at the office park near the Galleria on Cobb parkway. There was a platform for the band and a grassy space for the audience. We had blankets and picnics... I'm not exactly sure if it is still there, but it sounds like that is the sort of space you are seeking.

Maybe there are other office complexes with large green space like that. Maybe the Concourse in Dunwoody?

Thanks for the responses - I visited Cator Woolford and the Horse Park - neither were a match either because of location or the food thing. Pinetreelover's place sounds perfect but I'm sure it's long gone. I'll take a look tomorrow and it does give me some ideas.
