For the red velvet cake you can try Alpine Bakery on Houze Rd. Not sure if that's considered Alpharetta or Roswell. What's Caribbean black cake? Sounds interesting.

It's a rum cake.

No idea here. I usually get someone to send it to me from NYC or S. Florida

Bumping for additional responses on black cake.

I'm getting married in a few months and I would like to have a black cake at my wedding. Any Caribbean bakery recommendations in the metro Atlanta area would be quite welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

It's called "Bolo Preto" in Aruba, but even there it's only available by special order from the people who make them. But yes, it's a wedding tradition to give guests a little piece to take home, which is too small for me! I want to eat the whole thing!

The best way to find Carribean rum/fruit cake is to know people from the Carribean who know how to bake it. I had this at my wedding, a friend of my mom from Jamaica made us a 3 -tier cake, it was delicious. I have yet to buy a store bought piece that taste like its suppose to.

Surprisingly, I've found good results at Golden Krust.
