Kroger ought to relocate their South Augusta location further south like around the Tobacco Rd/Windsor Spring Rd. location. While all the other Krogers in the area have seen huge updates and expansions (besides the one downtown which is set to be either replaced by another store or will expand when the GRU gateway project happens) but this one has not primarily due to lack of space to expand. It's already in a high-crime part of town and now with the recent shooting happening there the other night, it's high time they relocate. The lower South Augusta/Hephzibah area has no other choices but Bilo, Food Lion or IGA and could benefit from a more upscale grocer like Kroger or Publix.

Many of young people involved in the fight which lead to the shooting live much closer to other grocery stores compared to that Kroger.. I've hearing from the RCSO the fight started, because somebody was robbed a few day before... They obviously were going to fight/shoot each other no matter the location... Moving the store doesn't solve the problem of violence among youth...

The Kroger in the Medical District/Harrisburg will be demolished and Harrisburg is no better than any of the neighborhoods surrounding the Kroger in South Augusta...

There's also a brand new KJ Market in the city limits of Hephzibah too..

That KJ market was the IGA I was talking about.

Also I know moving it won't solve the problems but there are so many factors besides crime working against that location the main one being no room to expand..and this is what I heard straight from the managers mouth a few years back when they did a few small but barely noticeable renovations.
