Actually it might make sense if it's a larger footprint store and if it lets them reduce their overhead by getting rid of two older stores.

Those 2 stores have expanded in there past, one not too long ago. If the stores get any larger it would likely be a Kroger Marketplace and I just don't see that being in the same center as a Target. Kinda like competitors.

Anything is possible, but really don't see Kroger going there at all.

The corporate office won't tell the truth anyway until the land, contract, etc is finalized.. Plus I don't think hardly anyone believed they were coming to Evans. Trader Joe's usually locate near Whole Foods and Mullins Crossing is almost 6 miles to Washington Crossing in West Augusta

Maybe Trader Joe's could move into the old Lowe's Building on Washington Road, that's pretty close to Whole Foods...

Hmm possible but that area is saturated with other grocery stores already.

Mind you I am not saying that they couldnt still come into the area but just that I doubt they will build in that specific area as its pretty full especially with a Lidls being added into the mix.
One area though they might build could be over where the Food Lion on Belair near exit 194 if it closes or down on Jimmie Dyess somewhere between like say near where the Zaxbys is.

According to the latest edition of the Buzz On Biz paper, one big name retailer has committed to the project while another one is verbally committed. I wonder who these two retailers are? I also believe that we will have an announcement in the spring regarding this project.
