Are there any 55+ communities in the Augusta/Aiken area? We might be relocating to the area for a job and would like to consider 55+ communities.

Another BIG concern for us in retirement is health care. Any comments on health care in the area?

Thank you.

There are quite a few retirement communities in the Augusta/Aiken area. Here is a link you may find helpful:15 Senior Living Communities in Evans, GA - SeniorHousingNet.com. With regards to healthcare, the Augusta area has some of the best healthcare not only in the State of Georgia, but in the Southeast as well. The city is home to the Augusta University Medical Center, University Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Trinity Hospital and a V.A. Medical Center.

And not just hospitals, but the many, MANY clinics associated with them all around. Plenty of urgent/after hours care places available, too.

Thank you for the replies. We are looking for a neighborhood/community to buy a home, not rent. Friends recently relocated to Florida and found many places to tour/visit and ultimately purchased a home in a Del Webb community. We have other friends in The Villages, FL. These are the types of 55+/retirement communities I am hoping to find.
