Any suggestions on where to find one in Austin? Doesn't have to be a puppy. Has to be good with elementary school aged kids. No other pets in house. Reputable prior owners. i.e., no puppy mills.

Thanks. Feel free to pm me.

Contact Timshell Farm. In Texas, not in Austin, but lots of Goldendoodles who live in Austin are purchased from them. Be prepared to pay lots of $$$.

I am sure that you don't want to hear this, but before you buy your goldendoodle, please take a look at the animals waiting for adoption at the Austin Animal Shelter. They're not all pit-bull mixes and could use a loving home.

Ditto. It doesn't hurt to just go view a few shelters and see what is out there first. You can even weekend foster at some shelters as kind of a trial period. I did this and the second time I ended up with our second dog!

My neighbor bought a Goldendoodle from a breeder 2 years ago. $2500 for a puppy that grew to 30 lbs. The dog ended up being too much of a handful - LOTS, LOTS of energy - so she recently gave him to a rescue group that specializes in these breeds. I'll see if I can find the name of that group.
