I've lived in So. California and visited north where the trees are the tallest on earth. Really, hill country trees are decent. As someone mentioned, their girth is impressive especially when you see those oaks with arms that reach out so far.

They're not bushes like those pinion pines that grow in Arizona that are so-called trees.
