Well here's my story... I came to Austin from the northeast around Jan 4th 2013 and was offered three jobs (even though I only interviewed for two) within five days! I got a higher salary then I even expected and some other perks that I couldnt imagine ever having, doing the same work for my former company in NY (Construction/Geotechnical field). It actually took me longer to find a suitable lease in SW Austin because it seems like any single family home/townhouse/duplex that was going for a reasonable price would come and go in a matter of hours. I literally had to wake up some of the realtors in the early morning hours to set up an appt. and make sure I would have the first look/chance to secure the property. So I would agree that the job market is very solid now, especially compared to where I came from. God Bless the ATX!!
