Nice bit of rain, even...

Also, was just talking to someone up at TCEQ (Parmer/I-35 area) and it was pouring there.

Default Flash flood warnings!!

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a Flash Flood Warning for: West Central Caldwell County. East Central Comal County. Western Guadalupe County. Hays County. Travis County.
  • Until 6:30 pm CDT.
  • At 2:44 pm CDT, National Weather Service meteorologists have determined thunderstorms training across the same areas will likely produce flash flooding across the warning area. Heavy rains of 1 to 2 inches have already fallen over parts of the Austin metro area, extending south along I-35 and to near Seguin in Guadalupe County. An additional 1 to 3 inches of rain will be possible before rain chances begin to decrease by around 5:30 pm CDT.
  • Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include: Austin, Dripping Springs, San Marcos, Seguin, Tanglewood forest, Wimberley, Bee Cave, Buda, driftwood, Geronimo. Kyle, Lago Vista, Lakeway, Mansfield Dam, Martindale. Mcqueeney, Onion Creek, Rollingwood, Uhland, West Lake Hills. Woodcreek and Zorn.

Yep, last night it was all about the stretch of clear days in the 90s coming up for the holiday weekend...no rain chance in the 7-day forecast. Fancy that...glad I didn't get the car washed and make that call for having the house windows cleaned

However, this morning's forecast at least mentioned the possibility of showers today and tomorrow. Finished cutting the grass and blowing the potentially staining tree gunk off the patio this morning. I reckon that deck and fence staining will have to wait a few days.

Thanks to IKEA for adding the underground parking DW went there about an hour before the storms hit(driving our 8 month-old vehicle) . I asked her to stay put for another hour to let the squall line move through.

Oops!!! She JUST called from a non-moving section of IH-35 south! Holiday Friday Storm traffic!!! She shoulda asked ME!!!

Looks like we are getting more! They predicted it wouldn't rain until this afternoon sometime - wrong again! LOL!

I guess my yard work will have to wait...not complaining!
