Hi.. I have a good family doc (for 2 adults- no kids) I'm happy with, but it's always a good idea to have two.. for a second opinion/'set of eyes'.. that sort of thing. And also when you can't get an appt with the 1st doc quickly enough, if they're out of town, etc.
Looking for someone (male or female) who has a holistic body/mind approach.. (but NOT a flaky hippie quasi-'health practitioner' who will prescribe acupuncture, crystal healing, and questionable mystery supplements!.. NO hocus-pocus stuff thank you!) ... just a regular, normal, old school, down-to-earth doc who is FACT-based, a GOOD listener, intuitive, takes their time with the patient, but is thorough.. doesn't rely on prescribing extensive/expensive testing for every little thing.. isn't a major pill-pusher BUT will recommend/prescribe drugs if needed... an old-fashioned, family type general doctor who is NICE, not too jaded to care, and preferably someone who does not deal with insurance companies. (because it's clear that this almost always affects their attitude, their decisions and quality of care- this includes the doc themselves AND the whole staff. I'm so tired of going to doc's offices where the doc might be nice, but the staff is cold and rude. It's inexcusable).
Also hoping to find someone who will help a patient get to the bottom of some health issues, instead of brushing them off.
South or Central Austin preferably.
Thanks in advance!
