I am very impressed so far, the traffic is mostly bad around rush hour but I don't think much worst than where I live now and not as bad as California where I was planning to move, but in my case commuting is not a problem.

I just visited one of my friends who moved here about 4 years ago, he lives in the Round Rock area, he was talking like a Texas native, he loves the town, he loves the schools, and his business has flourished in a big way thanks to the strong economy.

I will be visiting other friends who live in other areas like Cedar Park, and the Lakeway area in the next few days, all of them love the area, some came when their company transferred them, and one stayed after his contract expired!

He and his family do not complain about the summertime heat because it is a much better option than shoveling snow...

Even that real estate taxes are almost 3%, my friend said that he does not care about paying more because the educational system is awesome, and on top of that there is not income tax..

P.S. We just ate at Rudys Country Store and Bar-B-Q., It was yummy!
Being here only four years? There's no way he's talking like a Texas native. Sure, he might have picked up some words and can pronounce "Burnet", but that doesn't make you a Texas native. I'm as Yankee as they come and have been here for a decade and true natives can tell straight away that I am not from here.

That sounds even more foreign than NEW YORK CITY!

DW and I both have Southern roots; so I think we had a bit of a head start on the accent. However, just having lunch yesterday with some folks from Lometa and the surrounding area proves that we don't really sound like we live "Deepinthehearta" Texas

Speaking of pronunciations, our new Garmin GPS actually pronounces Burnet with the local 'inflection'; but calls Lakeline..."lahk' eh lin" I need to test it on Manchaca!

LOL. Well my best friend here is Irish

Funny enough, my daughter chided me on how to pronounce something. I had to explain to her what regional difference is...

That was the stupidest carp and I meant to say carp not crap, I have seen in awhile. Love the nerds icon-NOT, who wrote it.

People are moving here because it is being marketed all over the US with carp like that article.
