Hi, I have 3 storm windows that don't open properly and need to be repaired. I've been searching online to find someone who fixes windows as opposed to replacing them... as I am pretty sure they just need something simple.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a window repair person who works in SW Austin?

Thank you.

Storm windows are very inefficient. For the price of repair (and yes, I have checked this out), you can pretty much replace the window with a new vinyl high-R insulated window. If you are handy, you can do this yourself. Bit of a PITA removing the old window (checkout YouTube for videos) but figure a couple of hours per window for you to do it. You can purchase a replacement vinyl window at any of the big box stores, trim off the tab, and slide it in.

Be sure to measure to be sure it will fit. Otherwise you can get a custom replacement from the big box stores other providers such as WindowWorld (good company).

I have used Dan White's Screens & Things to replace screens. (413-9759) They made custom sizes for me. They did a very minor window repair, but I have no storm windows to compare to. They are on Hwy 290 West, so in SW Austin.
