Just something I noticed driving around Austin and RR/CP - I am thinking along the lines of a QuikTrip or RaceTrac in DFW - the larger clean C-stores that have a larger selection of items, prepared foods, large coffee selection, etc. Maybe I've just missed them.

We have them! Jeez, I wish we didn't! If you really miss them check out Buc-EEs outside of NB and in Bastrop.

One thing I notices is there are no bps down here compared to Chicago where they are all over

That's because BP is the successor to Standard Oil of Indiana.

There used to be RaceTracs here in several locations. Looks like they may have not been successful - the closest one now appears to be in San Marcos.

There's a BP in Round Rock on 620 and I35, or used to be.

But, Antny12, again, you have to get used to the idea that you're not in Chicago any more.

I'm going to leave this...just to show how wrong I can be!

Texas based 7-Eleven bought out Tetco and has been modifying those stores over the last year or so. Not huge stores, but pretty complete for a gas station, We had a couple of nearby QTs back in Atlanta...nice, clean, good prices on top-tier fuel...but I reckon I can see why they aren't trying to break into 7-11 country.

QuikTrip has 113 locations in the DFW area...but it doesn't look like they are interested in the rest of TX.

Got a chuckle the first time I saw a Wag-A-Bag

Didn't realize that! I guess in my mind I thought that bp was more wide spread like shell! I used to only get gas there but now I really don't care and get gas at hebs or 711.

There is a Race Trac on Braker Ln, east of Burnet Rd.

HEB sells the cleaners and additives(at the pump at a very high price) that top tier fuels are guaranteed to have already. Even Costco has gone to top tier fuels. 7-11 is often Chevron around here, so you are getting a top tier fuel there. I don't mind taking advantage of the 'sometimes' lower price at HEB; but I make sure it's only one tank out of three or four, with the others being Chevron, Shell, Exxon or other top tier fuel. Could make a difference in the long run.

Took me a while to get used to not seeing BP or Amoco after moving from Atlanta. Fortunately, 7-11 nee TETCO is pretty aggressive pricewise here in WAY north Austin and Cedar Park.
