Moving Out of Kentucky?

I was born and raised just outside of Louisville, and would also encourage you to stay put in Kentucky at least long enough to build up your savings accounts to around $8,000 each. Austin isn't that expensive to live in compared to larger cities like NYC, Chicago and LA but it is certainly more expensive that Louisville, Cincinnati or Nashville. Moving can be expensive (it cost me around $2700 to move from Chicago to Austin and I drove my own Uhaul truck) and you'll likely find other expenses along the way getting set up in Austin. One thing that can really add up here is how often you'll need to has up your car because traffic can be pretty brutal if you drive during peak times.

Out of curiosity, why Austin over other cities?
