Besides the airport, can anyone recommend a good place to rent a convertible in Austin? My birthday is coming up and it's my day off too. I'm thinking about renting a nice drop top and taking a ride out into the Hill Country.

I'm considering taking my Volvo in for service that day, they'll give me a C70. Alternately, if anyone has a Corvette or 911 Cabrio they'd like to loan me, I'm all ears! C'mon, it's my birthday!

There are Sixt and Avis franchises on 38th Street just east of Mopac. I've rented from the Avis location several times.

I'd go with the C70(I might be biased since we are on our fourth C70 since '04), if they have one available. I might be tempted to seek out a Miata to bring back some memories(had one all through the '90s). I know I've seen Chrysler 'verts on the Enterprise lots from time to time...not all that sporty, though(looks like they have exotic convertibles available in Dallas and Houston).

Sounds like a cool idea...IF the weather will cooperate!

Thanks, the C70 may be my best option at this point though I'm not sure if Roger Beasley has any left in their loaner fleet since the model has been discontinued. I'll have to call. My XC90 is a 2007, I'm sure it needs something! lol. I've had C70s as loaners before, nice car. That's one thing I like about Beasley, they let you pick your loaner if you want to.
