Hello!

We are looking at a house in Steiner Ranch, which is very close to the Bella Mar pool. I have read some complaints (from a few years ago) that say the pool gets very crowded and even sometimes closed due to swim team practice/meets all summer long. Also that on Saturdays, meets start at 6:30 am and the noise from the speakers is very loud. Can anyone tell me if this is still the case? Also, if the parking lot is full, do cars park along the street in the area? Thanks so much!

Yes and Yes. Unfortunately. You also have to worry about soccer & football games which are loud.

You're probably better off near John Simpson Park if you want to minimize noise. There's noise near Towne Square as well because of the soccer games, concerts, and other activities.

I guess at first living close to the subdivision amenities sounds like a great idea, but then ...
I knew a family living by Belamar. He was complaining every time, nearly started a war with the HOA...probably a lost cause.
Noise? ...yes, parking? ...like crazy. You can't imagine how rude people become just to not walk few hundred additional yards.

I agree with the other poster that out of the three park/pools John Simpson should be the quietest, but regardless I'd never plan to live close to one of these (or to similar areas in other subdivisions outside Steiner for what is worth).

My 2 cents...

Thanks for the responses! How far away from the amenities would one have to be to avoid the noise? One block? Five blocks?

One block isn't going to cut it. They use megaphones and PA systems at those (very early) swim meets. And yes, those meets shut down ALL the pools in Bella Mar, even though they only use one of them.

5 blocks would be much better.

Oh, and yes, cars park along the street for swim meets and soccer games, which covers about 9 months out of the year.

I live on Piedmont Hills--just down the street from Bella Mar Pool and noise/parking are not an issue for me.

If you're near Bella Mar or Town Square, then 5 blocks would be needed. Near John Simpson 1-2 blocks would be okay.
