What are you looking for? Hills? Short commute to downtown or your work? Master planned communities with good schools? Without details, we'll not be able to give you a proper answer. Oh, and how expensive is "more expensive"? Westlake is 1-2 million, by Lake Austin is 10-20 millions.

What Bp25 asked. What exactly are you looking for? I noticed that you asked the same or similar questions about various cities. Are you trying to decide where to live? More about you would be useful in helping us give you helpful answers.

"perhaps more expensive"

Stand just about anywhere in the city limits and have a look around

Lake Travis area

Very safe, great schools, good restaurants and reliable shopping, specially around Bee Cave.
Depending of your budget you can buy single family homes from around $400,000 to over $1,000,000 in places like Spanish
Oaks, my favorite.

I am within 10 minutes to movies, shopping, restaurant, supermarkets like HEB and Whole Foods.

Within 20 minutes to the Barton Creek Mall.

30 minutes to downtown.

I love this area!

Downtown. $/sf dwarfs any other area of town.

Well, you covered the 'expensive' part; but there is not a location downtown that I find "desirable" for day to day living.
