Round Rock hasn’t had any openings on their list for section 8 in years. We were trying to get my son into his own place and gave up - sent him back to Midwest where there was some help for him.

Cheapest apartments in Hutto have been around $850 and Round Rock is generally more.

OP - come visit for a week. Use a little of your savings to make sure you don’t make a big mistake with all of it.

Red Hills Villas is income restricted and accepts sec. 8. At least they did last year while my daughter was renting there.

I live in RR, OP. $700, you're probably looking at older, probably Section 8 rentals. I hope you like theft, poor maintenance, etc etc. You need to up your budget so that you can get a decent apartment.
