I was wondering if anyone knows what the coaching stipend is in Round Rock ISD. I'm from out of state and I'm interested in coaching middle school football when I begin teaching, but I can't find any information on stipends. I've looked on the Round Rock ISD website and on other forums already.

Are you from out of state? I know in many other states if you teach you can just sign up to coach. In TX, you have to be hired specifically as a coach. Coaching vacancies are listed on the TX High School Coaches Assoc. website I believe. There are sometimes exceptions made. I had a friend from NC that was a coach there and when he taught at Austin HS they asked him to be an assistant track coach for one season and gave him like an extra $250/mo.

I am from out of state and I've been asked to coach middle school football. I know it is time consuming, but I'd still welcome the opportunity. I was just curious what the stipend is because I can't find the info anywhere and I didn't think it was appropriate to ask during the interview.

Not only tough in the coaching part..but wait til each and every parent comes to tell you how "their" son is the one who should be groomed for HS football and how you're not playing him enough.

Good luck to you on that.

ha ha yeah. I always say you can tell which parents were successful athletes because they're the ones not screaming at their kids or coaches.
