I've seen just a couple of mentions of restaurants open on Thanksgiving. We aren't interested in the whole "brunch pig-out" hoopla; but would be looking for a casual Thanksgiving lunch with social distancing, of course. Jim's was always a stand-by; but I've called two different numbers and can't get a person at the restaurant or home office.

Any ideas???

You’re like me. I hate cooking 30 days worth of food only to be interested in eating it for 3 days. I pretty much always go out for Thanksgiving and Christmas, most likely this time it will be to DFW... but will keep an eye on this just incase.

Got confirmation that Jim's 183 @ Spicewood Springs Rd is open. That will likely be our plan.

I ended up going to DFW. Me and the elders were going to eat out but they got the wrong message and ended up cooking sooo guess it will be home cooking this year. I managed to snag the last Apple Pie at H‑E‑B last night.

I guess I will sample around next year. Admittedly we have great food in Austin but DFW and Houston seem to have the more functional Holiday eateries.

We opted for tuna salad sandwiches and a trip to the Bark Park instead of "celebrating".
Also toured your general area a bit as we are looking for a house....beautiful day for the convertible!!!

TBH When I bought my 6th Gen, I made the sunroof feature a MUST, wouldn’t settle without it. Turns out the car I bought was actually the very same car I test drove a year before and it was transferred to another dealership. That all happened while I was in Georgia and Austin wasn’t a thought on my mind. I probably have used my sunroof here in Texas maybe 10 times in total?

My older one has T-Tops. Unfortunately it’s impossible to come by those anymore. When I was younger I didn’t care if it was 50* outside or 100* plus high humidity ... those tops would be OFF... today I almost never take them off.

As for Leander ... They are throwing up homes like crazy, like literally they broke ground for three different subdivisions plus two apartment complexes within a half mile radius of my house since I purchased in January.

You drove 6-8 hours round trip to eat out today? If so, where did you go? That must have been amazing eats!

The top goes down only in the mornings or evenings except on a cloudy day like this afternoon. Only about 72 degrees...perfect!
We would love to have a Cedar Park address; but Leander has more to offer in our <$325K price range. Actually like the Crystal Springs Century development over by the Lakewood Park; but those are selling long before they are built! (And the big reason for moving is a yard!). Looked at Larkspur(huge place!) and that's still a possibility(along with others on 183A).

Family. .. They can't drive very long distances like I can so I typically go to them.

Yeah, Leander is shocking me at how fast its growing TBH. I fear before long it will be like Cedar Park in the aspect that inventory below $350k will be fairly limited or under-desirable. I dunno if you have to do yard work where you currently are or not but something that may surprise you is how often we have to mow during the spring. In Atlanta I was able to go 2 weeks between mows. Here I'd be doing good if I got 5 days between mows during spring and early fall.

I was a bit of a "yard guy" at the big house in Avery Ranch...electric mower and battery tools. Don't mind the yard work. We do a little bit here at the condo...mainly extra plantings, etc.
