Can anyone tell me whether they've encountered apartments in the Austin area where the lease is for less than one year? I may need to rent an apartment, but only for six months max.

Thanks!

It will be more. Your best bet, if you want to find something reasonable (well, leas then like $1300 a month and in a decent area) is to get on Facebook or Craigslist and find someone who needs a lease takeover or sublet.

Yes, many places allow shorter leases than 12months, but like stated above, cost per month is higher for shorter leases. sometimes significantly so.

Anywhere between 11-15 seem to be the sweet spot. I’d like to sign a six month lease next go around so I can get in the off season pricing of December. I’ve seen places in mueller that are usually 1700 going for 1200 right now. That’s my dream spot but has been unattainable in the summers.
