My garage feels like an oven when I close the door behind one of my Camaro’s. I also have 4 freezer units running in there so it gets nice and toasty.

Lawd, I hate this weather right now. It's actually dangerous to be outside for extended periods. I have a nice tiger stripe on the small of my back courtesy of the shirt and my pants not being in sync, exposing my skin. My complexion is now bronze, very dark brown, and medium olive (which is what my natural skin tone is if I was indoors all of the time).

This is the part of living in Texas I do not miss. But once we get to December, I'll post again crying about how much I miss Austin (and Houston) and being back in NYC just plain sucks. I'm sure the watering holes must be packed daily there.

I can't tell the difference. DFW is colder in the winter and Austin is hotter in the summer. DFW gets snow and/or ice every year while it's rare in Austin.

Austin area has seemingly had atleast one snow/ice storm per year for the last 4 years I've been here.

I was in Dallas for a summer in 2007 and found Dallas to be warmer than San Antonio. I think the issue that year was that this high that is parked over us right now (the omega blocking high) might have been a bit further north that year. It was very dry and hot compared to SA that was just humid, cloudy, and still pretty hot. Kind of the difference between a Houston and a Phoenix comparison.

Proof of climate change.. for Austin particularly? ..maybe.. I can't say for certain, but I do believe our global climate is changing.. ..that doesn't necessarily equate to 'warming' or 'cooling' for everything though.. ..I believe that certain parts of the world will be unnaturally warm, other parts will unnaturally cool, and experience unnatural weather, or extremes in natural weather.

DFW hadn't had any measurable winter precip in the 6 years prior to the big Winter storm last year.

We usually do get at least some flurries or some sleet once or twice a year. But it's not a winter weather event every year.

Just got back from Galveston and Bay Area. Sure it’s humid but at least you’re not frying your hands on your steering wheel or belt buckle. The closer to the cost you are imo the more tolerable it is. And it rained down there quite a bit, further dropping temps to the 80s. As I got closer to austin the temp marches upward and onward to 100 degrees. It’s like poor central and north texas are feeling the brunt of this horrid weather pattern.

Yeah, it is pretty insane how quickly the weather patterns change between the Gulf and Central TX. Houston is only like 2.5 Hours away but it’s like they’re in an entirely different climate than we are.

Personally don’t care about the heat. I do wish we could have more rain though.
