I've had my suspicions for a while. Every time it rains, the water seems to be flowing towards the SE where the elevation continues to get lower until it reaches the Gulf of Mexico.

It certainly is going down in elevation, but not towards the Gulf of Mexico. I can't help but wonder how much money those Lake Travis boating companies have lost over the last two springs and previous summer.

The Colorado River is suppose to flow to the SE, and yes the elevations do get lower the closer it gets to the Gulf of Mexico. Why would you expect it to flow any other direction?

idk who's post you're responding to. cheeva is just punning off of CarnivalGal's topic.

My post was making a point about the water levels due to our relatively weak rain season, not the direction of travel.

I was responding to the op. Sorry for the confusion. I should have quoted it.

It has to be, or it would just be a lake. The real question is the Colorado River ‘going down hill’ as it flows down hill?
