Nope, it was just built without a garage. no reason given! Not a model home, either. It may NOT have a garage, but it DOES have a pool... which is a lot more fun (and healthy) than a garage, heh.

This is the type of carport I was looking at:

Well, look at it this way, if you are having a picnic and it rains...

Readymade,
Yeah, it would be tough to put a carport like that next to a house that you love. Rather than something like that, do you think an architect could draw up a plan for something that could be made out of wood and go with the architectural style of the house and neighborhood? It seems like it would be a quick build for a carpenter or someone who specializes in decks. In this economy, I'm trying to keep business local. Plus, you'll have a LOT more attractive carport. Good luck!

PM me. I know architects and carpenters.

It would only get expensive if you had to pour concrete.

I don't like those homes either.
I would consider buying a home that doesn't have a garage. It's not important to me whether I'm the only one without it on a street. Less temptation to buy and store stuff in it. I see too many cars in the driveway and not in the garage. Isn't a garage to store your car? When I'm looking for a home, the garage is not a requirement, I am more concerned about the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, sq. ft., overall structure of the home.
