Can you tell apart the two nationalities by their dressing/ look? What are popular dressing styles in each region?
Just curious

I've heard Kiwis dress frumpier/grungier than Aussies, maybe also more hippieish, but it also depends on the region and city/country.

Aussies dress in gumboots and those hats with corks hanging around the rim to keep the flies away, oh and carry big knives to kill those deadly snakes everywhere.

Kiwis dress in gumboots and warm weather woolen polar fleeces as it never goes above 2C, oh and carry sheep shearing equipment.

I'd agree with Trimac. Kiwi guys are pretty recognizable - jandals, singlets, beaten-up shorts, cheap haircuts, gumboots, a day or so's growth of beard...grungy and casual. I read somewhere where they tend to avoid with some horror anything that looks 'poofterish' and tend to let their wives or gfs choose their clothing, so I asked a Kiwi girlfriend, "then why do their wives and gfs 'let' them dress like that", and she responded something along the lines of "we don't want other women to take them off us, because there aren't enough men around, but shh don't tell them that".

Hey, I live in SoCal and I wear gum boots, well not to the Oscars.

I LOVE my Aussie Dog boots too!

LOL! And Rocky made it to somebody's list of Top Ten Bogan Suburbs in Oz, didn't it? Which is why Bali's never appealed to me. I know there's supposed to be areas where you're not confronted with loud, drunken, Bintang singlet-wearing bogans holding beers in the middle of the street with their corn-rowed missus and obnoxious sprogs but I'd rather not risk it. In case the cashed-up ones are there.

Why is it Aussies always feel threatened in this forum, and have the urge to Kiwi bash all the time, what is it you dont like about yourselves?, is it you know Kiwis are more liked around the world?

Note how I poked fun at both countries, note how you just Kiwi bashed.
