It was actually my allergies that made me leave, else Id be happily still be in Adelaide. My asthma was the worse ive ever had (emergency room twice), probably triggered by gum trees (eucalyptus). The dosage of the steroid/medicine i was given in Oz is not available in the US... Much higher. My doctor told me I'm not the first North American he has treated for allergies. I still have allergies iN the US, but not severe and manageable by over the counter, zyrtec and an occassional inhaler. I should have known i was in trouble when i saw an asthma poster at Sydney airport, on my way to Adelaide.

When you are on vacation ( or holiday) a place seems wonderful. There are lots of stories of people who move to Hawaii or Florida to move home after a few years.
