I'd have to, because I find even Melbourne to be a dullsville(especially during winter)!!! Brisbane has much nicer weather/climate, however, there's virtually nothing to do there.
So I'd say Adeladie is no brainer lol.

I think people who say things like that just don't know how to find a way to have fun. I agree I've said Perth is boring, but it's largely our isolation. Adelaide is only 6-7 hours from Melbourne, Perth would be a 2-3 day drive. Anyway, for those who say ADL is boring, what is it that it lacks you want?
It has restaurants, entertainment, beaches, the hills, forest, nice public spaces for sporting activities. Surf beaches aren't too far away. Just what CAN'T you do in Adelaide that you're dying to do?

What you can't do in Adelaide:
- ski (but what Aussie capital city has snow mountains anyway)
- get decent bagels (hehe) or real Mexican food
- go to an orthodox synagouge (local temple is reformed)
What can you do in Adelaide:
- opera
- live theatre
- festivals
- get Asian and some African food
- pubs
- annual gay parade
- be nude at Australias first nude beach
- surf
- get drunk on local wine
- get drunk on Coopers
- cycle the countryside
- explore countryside on motorcycle
- escape (Airport)
- see art (2 great free art museums)
- have a pie floater
- see wildlife, including the only zoo in Oz with pandas
- explore botanic gardens
- make wine at the Australian wine centre
I haven't been to Adelaide in 25 years, but am sick of reading this comment.
What more could you want?
Adders is a city of over 1 million, there are shops, gyms, universities, restaurants etc, there are facilities.
The climate is more than acceptable, slightly hotter in summer and colder in winter than the east coast, but so what?
I like where I live, but could easily live there.
I have only passed through the place, but coming from Sydney it has a very different vibe. It was like being in another country. or THE country
The people who seem to dislike Adelaide the most have been (in my experience) people from Adelaide. One Adelaidian describing it as like watching roadkill, disturbingly quiet and quite surreal
As for Brisbane, I love the place but going to the CBD on a weekend reminded me of the Sydney CBD in the early 90s - pretty dead except for toursts and hobos

So true.
However, in hindsight, the OP should explain what he means by boring as that can be intepreted in different ways.
