This is nothing earth shattering. We all know channels 7,9&10 are woeful for news, and pretty much focus on local news, which is fine. You know it, so why watch them? Especially when you have ABC24, ABC news, SBS.... and if pay tv a heap of other news channels.
For sure, Unfortunately 7&9 Are probably the most watched news in Brisbane/QLD due to the time slot and free to air.
Hey I was only responding to a comment that Kiwis basically are world news isolated which I found very ironic.
IMHO the most world news isolated (as in the average person exposure) developed nation in the world is probably the US. Has nothing to do with distance and that's despite probably having the most world news tv & web.

Reason: yes another typo
This is a good question, but I don't think the "too isolated" is a sufficient answer anymore. We have jet travel and globalization is strong, it's only 12 hours between the two countries. Tokyo to New York is 12 hours, as is Japan to LA. Not much different to Sydney to LA/ San Francisco which is also 12 hours.

Agreed isolated is a argument for 50 years ago assuming there was a problem. China has over 1.3 billion but doesn't mean its a great place to live. NZ has a faster percentage rate of population growth than the US or the UK but imo doesn't mean anything.
This part of the world is lightly populated, last time I checked Australia has one of the lowest population densities on earth and something like the 50th most populous nation , adding another 200 million more I doubt will improve the quality of life.
It's because New Zealand doesn't like having lots of children if any. Take my family for example my grandma was a daughter of 9 and gave berth to 7 one of which is my mom who gave berth to 3 and I plan to have 4. if the people of New Zealand just took the time to have families there would have more people.

KA? these comments are becoming more bizarre but sure I guess if everyone stops and pumps out some babies the population will grow faster. The birth rate is pretty much 2.0 per female and the population grows by net inflow.
One Of the main reason its geographic location. Its very far away from other part of the world.
