haha so true on all points. You can still buy guns but need to apply for a license first!

How does one 'love' a country and call it 'great' when one has never yet visited that country?

I have done an independent analysis and my conclusion is that Australia is the best country in the world, and I am an American.

No guns at Walmart is a very good thing. No volcanoes is a good thing long term. No winters is a very good thing.

I haven't been to Australia, but do know there are volcano's there.

The civilized world, actually believes it's a good thing you can't buy guns at Walmart.

Embarrassing and shameful.

Well, for the most part the polls indicate support (consistently 60-70% in favour). We just have some bigots for politicians, holding up the process.

* Low crime rate, gun control ensures no crazies like in America where they just start shooting up random people.
* Climate is very favorable: no harsh winters, where there is very hot heat it is mainly dry (>40C). Most of the country has at least one wet season which means water can be managed.
* Impressive mineral reserves like iron ore and noble elements.
* Easy access to growing SE Asia markets.
* No tornadoes or earthquakes and typhoons are limited to sparsely populated areas.
* Very friendly people.
* English language.
* European mores and values.
* Varied cuisine (I found great Greek/Italian/Chinese in Melbourne for instance).
* Political and economic stability.

Define civilized world. I love guns does that make me uncivilized?
