I think the quarantine is just 30 days from the United States and Canada and longer for less developed countries and Hawaii.

I paid $65 for a doctor consult in north Adelaide!
Not much more than your pooch consult!

At least you get something back from Medicare. The gap sure is widening though as the doctors' fees rise. And trying to get in to see your doctor can be a pain - two or three days at least.

Fortunately I was lucky, my doctor was a mate's brother so I was always able to see him same day. It felt funny though.. most of his practice was for cosmetic procedure and I'd go in genuinely sick surrounded by beauty products and women with bandaged noses, post-nose jobs! And worse thing was he had NO car magazines in the waiting room! It was all beauty crap.. LOL..

You poor thing

You'd like the doctor who operated on my shoulder earlier this year. All he has in his waiting room are mags on golf, boats, cars, & fishing. All "manly" stuff. Thank God he's not the sort of doctor to keep you waiting forever for your appointment. I'd have died of boredom!

We have private health insurance ($230/month). I got the surgery within a week and I only paid $100 gap, which is normal with our plan. Plus an extra $52 for the private room in an amazing private hospital - I had a view of the Swan River from my bed! Nicest staff and great food. Luxury!

I just want the car mags. Hospital sounds nice.. I would have feigned illness and stayed longer. I forgot how cheap private insurance is in Oz.. . it is much much higher stateside...
