Hardees seems to be a southeastern US only burger chain, and they sell peach milkshakes with pieces of real peach,
brewed iced tea sold in a variety of sizes up to a 1/2 gallon, (1.8 Litre?) a "Frisco Burger" which is grilled sourdough bread
instead of a bun, with melted cheese, bacon, mushrooms(?) and a 1/4 lb beef patty.
Hardees is obscene. A medium drink is 32oz. A large I am guessing is 48oz and I think that they have an extra large too.
No offense but you haven't tried many other restaurant chains if you thought highly of Boston Pizza! You were in Canada I assume...I haven't seen Boston Pizza in the US...
If you come back, you'll need to try Cheesecake Factory- now that is a great chain!
yeah the Boston Pizza place was in Banff, Alberta. The only other major restaurant chain I tried recently in the US was Applebees but I didn't find the food as good.
Prawns!!!! Try buying prawns here, you're gonna be paying over 26 bucks/kilo for a bloody asian import that was probably fished out of filthy polluted rivers and bays. Australian products run at $32 or more
I can't see how this is justified when prawns can be farmed in their millions with ease, and the oceans are crawling with the creatures.
I wont buy it if it;s not from Australian waters. ..
Food I'd like to see ... better Mexican places .. I wanted to check out Mamasitas on Collins St over the weekend but didnt get a chance ...
I guess I'm still finding where to go in Sydney - but in Melb I use to like checking out different food places such as Russian/Hungarian -etc.. and found some great places... Not sure where such places are in Sydney as yet.
More genuine Italian restaurants (not just pizza places), they tend to get a bit thin once you head out of the capital cities, and even there - they tend to stick to the trendy, inner-city or well-to-do areas.
Other European restaurants -eg French - are as rare as hen's teeth outside of capital cities.
The lack of Mexican has already been mentioned, and in particular, good quality Mexican.
There is too much cheaper chain fast food outlets in outer suburban areas of most cities, and lack of any classy food.
Living in outer suburbia, we tend to go to Hunter Valley wineries here, which cater for the Sydney market and are very pricey.
"Chipotle" chain in the US looks interesting. Saw it on Oprah.
Apparently everything their is cooked fresh; they train each employee to cook.
Food is supposed to be quite healthy and tasty.
Chipotle just opened their first outlet in Toronto, on Yonge and Dundas, by Ryerson. Google it.
And there is a Moe's SW grill on Eglington just east of Yonge (midtown). Its allright.
There was a good Mexican restaurant in Darwin. The only good Mexican restaurant I found.
