Yeah, I suspect he did run off the tires, and couldn't run down Johnson, Vickers, or Gordon. Once it hit 20 to go, I was sure Jr would win, but he stopped closing and his lap times dropped for the last 10.

Still, it was a good run. With some laps lead and a 3rd place finish, he did very well considering how his season went.

I was amazed Vickers and Gordon made it the distance without anymore yellow flags.

"That don't mean it's all right now -- my car is tore up and he ain't got enough talent to run in the top five, I guess," Earnhardt said. "He ran down into the side of me and spun me out late in the race.
"I mean, we're all running real hard but you've got to know how much race car you've got and you've got to know how much talent you've got before you go down in the corner. He never knows. It's disappointing."

What a jackazz. Livin' off a name talking about another drivers lack of talent. That other driver he's talking about actually has a win this year and is 500 points up on him in the standings while driving inferior equipment. I guess he's just a crybaby and a whiner, right?

Give the guy some slack. Almost every driver has whined at some point, especially right after they crawl out of a hot car after being slammed into the wall at 180MPH.

We all know Jr's struggles on the track, we all know what enormous pressure he has on his shoulders to win.

So while we all hate to hear whiners, as long as it's not an every race type of thing, then I say we give him a pass.

All of the drivers whine, b*tch and complain. Its the Shrub Haters that think its only him...If i was in some of those situations and had a reporter stick a mic in my face immediately after, they'd be bleaping every other word...

Jeff Gordon is my driver...I used to winch in pain when he whined. I was thinking, Man, your a 4 time Champion...WTH?

Thankfully he hasn't whined in a while.

But like pokrplr said, it's a high stress enviroment...these guys are so competitive and want to win so bad....and when things go wrong, they sometimes slip when talking to the media.

I've been impressed with Kurt Busch....while he sounds like a real knucklehead on the radio to his crew...when he get's out of the car now, he's as cool as a cucumber...

I am also wondering how money $$ did scrubber nation lose to those same bookies. Because i know scrubber nation had a season long side bet with them same bookies on there boy winning championship.

Wouldn't that be a more realistic bet though?? I'd certainly put my money on the 18 winning a title before the 88. For that matter, Shrub may win a title before 88 ever gets to Victory Lane...
