Ok I drive a 02 ford windstar, and it has only 35lbs of fuel pressure. I have taken it to a place thinking I would get it fixed, but that never happpened. Ok, this is what I have done so far, changed fuel filter, new fuel pump, pcv valve, changed fuel pressure regulator, plugs and wires. It is reading codes 303 most of the time, but sometimes will go to 301 or 304. I fell like I am on my last string with this van. Can someone PLEASE help me??

look at the return line. If that is blocked in any way, the pressure will be low

If the fuel return line is blocked the fuel rail pressure will be high.

Code P0303 is an engine misfire, not necessarily a fuel pressure problem.

While 35 psi is on the low side, it may be acceptable. Do you have a service manual for that car?

Friend if you paid someone to change all these parts and still the car is not fixed you have been ripped off by a repair shop that doesnt know how to fix cars but DO know how to run up a bill.....I would have the used parts they removed tested to see if they are indeed broken and if not demand my money back and take the car to a better shop........I bet they have already thrown the old ones away though. good luck

That's about the size of it.

He should have asked the shop to "fix the check engine light," and paid with a credit card. The shop receipt should say "replaced ABC to fix code P0xxx." If the light comes back on in a couple of days, then the shop did not do what he paid them to do, and he has a good case to have his credit card company reject the charge (no use arguing with the shop). And at that point it's time to find another repair shop.

This should not be difficult to fix. It might be simpler to take it to a dealer.

wish I could rep you more than once for this excellent advice. To make the CEL go off AND STAY OFF the car has to be fixed with no BS

Zea Mays, I know it has low fuel pressure because it misfires when it takes on a load, going up hill things like that. Other than that it runs fine. Normal fuel pressure is between 30-40.

Well, 35 PSI is right in the middle of the acceptable band, probably fuel pressure is not the problem.

Have to agree that the shop you used just "Easter egged" and threw a few parts at the problem, apparently just trying to get lucky.

Not to suggest changing them without checking them first, but what about your O2 sensor and air filter?

I don't know how this particular engine senses when to fire the spark, but that mechanism may be at least part of the problem.

That by no means indicates a definite fuel pressure problem.
