I Agree having also attended Porsche events and knowing owners that the real Porsche enthusiasts are some of the nicest people around. Some of the purists are snobby and those that buy the car in PDK and are not car guys seem to be snobby.

Otherwise, a great group.

WE have a nice wrap around porch that is about 100' long in total and can hold over 40 people. We do not have one of the cars, they only hold 2 people. How boring. Our porch was cheaper than the German ones.

So you are going to tell Germans in Germany that they are pronouncing a GErman company wrong.

my experience is that those who are snobs behind the wheel are snobs out side the car as well.

Am I misconceiving these guys?
Yes you are. Many Vette owners, like me if I owned one, own them because they are the best performance value in a sports car for the money, no exceptions. I cross paths with the local Vette club here at car shows and cruise-ins, and few of them meet your definition.

I guess Porsche pronounces their own name wrong in their ads.

There are snobs at every level, and there are good car people at every level. There's no specific group.

That being said, there are far more people who pigeonhole owners of a certain make, and project their own deficiencies and issues onto them.

True car people in general, are some of the nicest and down to Earth people around, no matter what they drive. Of course, your always going to find the one A$$ hat, who thinks his car is the best. That testosterone seems to get boiling and makes guys come out with pretty stupid comments. We were at the local show last night....the normal Chevy vs Ford feuds...but in a good natured way....Once in awhile the Audi vs BMW, etc. No one takes it seriously.

That's the truth. (Welcome back! BTW)

I should add here I brought up the whole Prosche pronunciation thing at lunch yesterday among a group of car lovers. The person who spoke German was thoroughly disgusted with those of us who use one syllable.

Some decades back had a car (cpe) that was referred to as a "Bathtub".

Wonder how many here who claim some car knowledge know what car I drove?
