i worked a few auto ride and drives for chrysler recently where i was in charge of their challenger srt8. vehicle is simply amazing and has so much power and speed once you floor it. beats every car on that list for horsepower except the shelby.
don't be so sure.. Base Corvette would have its hands full with a new Boss 302 and a new GT500..
Why are you talking about the new GT500? I'm actually talking about what's on the list now. And the new GT500 will be way above 50k. And the Boss 302 has 10 more hp over a vette but has less torque and weighs a couple hundred lbs more.
For me, not only speed and power matters. It is great to have it, but it is not helpful without a proper handling and traction. Regarding high speed handling, none of those cars can beat a 911, imho.
I wonder if any of those come with a free "Get-Out-Of-Jail" card or at least with a clean, extra pair of underwear?
In the late 80s /early 90s, who'd have thunk Hyundai would be one of the top auto dogs in the near future? I wonder if Rodney King, similarly high on crack, had an R-Spec back then, would the cops be able to catch him?

It also weighs nearly 4200 lbs so that 470 hp engine is almost necessary to get it moving. I think the Challenger is a wonderful vehicle but Dodge should try to trim it a few pounds to be more competitive with the Mustang/Camaro.
That is actually incorrect. The article focus on HP to weight. Otherwise it would just be listed in order of HP.
Again, how you are geared is relevant to this conversation then.
The ratio does not tell the whole story, and I still think some 0-60, quarter mile, and top speeds make sense to be included given the title of the article and thread.

I guess you can send the guy who wrote the article a message and ask him why they were not included.
