I had a money pit car but I liked it. 1968 olds cutlass supreme.

New Peugeot 504 4 door sedan.
Family member.

Most comfortable car I have ever sat in and driven.
Unfortunately - the automatic transmission went out few thousand miles outside of manufacturers warranty.
THEN
An engine block crack.

One of the many reasons we don't see French cars in the USA.

Awesome! I was going to post the very same thing. I had a 1974 Peugeot 504 wagon. Beautiful to look at; miserable to maintain. And parts were very expensive.

'71 Chrysler Plymouth and '76 Ford Pinto. Has stopped owning U.S. made cars since then.

Cadilla Sedan Deville in the mid 1980's was a disaster. Nearly broke GM and me both trying to keep the thing running. Never again GM

In retrospect, I owned some real losers. 74 Dodge Dart Sport, 80 Merc Bobcat, 85 Ford Tempo amongst the other, better cars but none of them ever suffered a major breakdown or catastrophic failure.

Sure, the Dodge dropped the driveshaft as I pulled into a station looking for a place to park it for a week so I let them do the repair and picked it up a week later. It also lost a fuel pump while going somewhere on the interstate in San Antonio.

Back then, every man worth his salt carried tools everywhere. I caught a ride to a parts place, purchased a pump and installed it myself. The delay was no more than an hour or so. I was a young airman and quite proud of repairing it myself!

This is an old thread, so I wonder if I'm already on it, but my immediate thought when seeing the thread title was that frickin' Mazda 626 automatic. Nightmare of a transmission.

Now, the older Mazda 626 manual transmission was one of my favorites and gave me no grief.
