I would recommend the Toyota Sienna over the Odyssey, even though i am a HUGE Honda fan, the Odyssey has had transmission problems for many years with little or no modifications from the factory to lessen the problems. Everything Honda makes is extremely reliable except for Odyssey's transmissions and some Ridgelines. Also, i work in the car auction business, and about 7 out of 10 Odysseys i drive have issues, Siennas usually don't. I hope this helps.
If so, I would say Honda, just because they seem to have a higher quality interior than the Toyota van. The latest Sienna seems to have way too much hard and cheap plastics on the instrument panel. The Hondas may be alot of plastic as well, but it dont have a cheap look to it like the Toyota does.
Personally, I would look elsewhere... like a Chrysler Town and Country, which has a higher quality interior IMO. Strange though, had you asked me this in the 90s, I would have said Honda or Toyota. lol.
Not sure about powertrains, etc. In those areas, has Mopar improved? May be better off with Honda/Toyota if they havent.
Mopar is Chrysler/Dodge. I have a 2000 Caravan and they are not reliable. If you want to buy used and you get them at half the price of a Sienna/Odyssey, then might be worth it (I did it that way and still not sure).
As far as the original question, have you test drove both cars? Take the family out on an extended drive with either and see which one you like better. There should not be much difference in the long term.
A lot of people don't like the current gen of the Odyssey, they say it looks like a hearse.
