Hi people. My car makes a funny noise every time I crank it up. How much should it cost to fix it if it is the starter? Just a guess will do. thank you oh so much

I'd say, funny noises should be paid for with funny monies? Will all agree?

Now that you mention it, I have recently heard a noise in my car, but I was driving at the time, how much do you think it would cost to pave the road with goose feathers so it would ride softer?

Replacing the starter usually does not cost much. It is one of the easiest DIY repairs you can do. The last time I got a rebuilt starter, it cost around $80 I think. If you use new parts and have a dealer do it, they might get it up to $350 - $500.

What makes you think it is the starter? Usually is your starter is dead or dying the car does nto start so it cannot make funny noises.

If the noises are truely funny, maybe it is best to leave it alone. Everyone should laugh some each morning.

This really depends on the car. On my 4 cylinder Accord, the intake manifold has to be removed to get to the starter, so that work would increase the labor charge significantly.
