This doesn't actually tell me how much it costs though. But how cool would that be, cover it with an awesome design.

I used to drive a 73 VW Bug a few years ago, I always thought it would have made a great advertisement for someone if it had a wrap.

I guess my question really is, if I do try that, what should I use to do it with?
the clear coat is used to get a shine on modern cars. the undercoat just provides the color. what you can do is sand down the old clear coat, as well as the rest of the car, and reshoot the clear. if you want to do the job on the cheap, you can stop by your local parts store and pick up some duplicolor clear in spray cans. you will need about 10 of them.

If the car has a salvage title it has likely been repainted by a body shop. Who knows what quality paint they used, or if they even applied it correctly.

Stop putting wax on peeling clear, you're being counterproductive. THat wax is going to be a pain in the ass of whoever has to paint it next, since wax is kryptonite to the adhesion of paint.

Also do not listen to the guy wove who said put spray paint clear on it. That clear has no hardener, and isn't meant to be out in the sun with repeated exposure to the UV and other elements.

Either-
1 deal with it and leave it alone
2 put a vinyl wrap over the bad parts. This will look OK. It won't match the paint perfectly, nor shine like the rest, but it's better than nothing.
3 take it to a body shop and have the affected parts resprayed

Leave it alone.
With that sort of attitude, why bother bathing, right? You're just going to die sometime. Why bother cutting your hair? And as it falls out, it can take the dirt with it, right? Why bother looking halfway decent to the rest of the world? You're just going to die anyway and how mcuh will you care how you look when your dead?

Let me guess, youre a homeless guy that hasn't bathed or gotten a haircut in decades, right? 'Cause, why should you care how you look, or how anything you own looks?

This is true. It lasted pretty well, though, only started peeling like last year. We've had it for at least 5 years.
