The 911 debuted in Sept. 1963 as a 1964 model.

Another game changer was the Chrysler minivan. Pretty much singlehandedly killed off the station wagon. I'd also have to say that the Tesla roadster has been a game changer, it really made other companies put more effort into their electric vehicle programs, and we'd have a lot less electric options out there if it weren't for Tesla really kicking things off.
I agree wholeheartedly about the Chrysler minivan. They should get credit for being a game changer in that segment!

Ford fusion stole Aston Martin's grill.
Toyota FJ40 and Land Rover copied the Willy's Jeep.

The 2000 Deville and Maybach 62 share some design elements. I'm not sure who is the follower, but over the years I have notice a few other cars like Hyundai picking up some of the lines I've seen on Mercedes.

I don't understand the 2002 Altima. What is unique about a slightly sporty looking sedan with a generic FWD powertrain?

I think the Chevy Suburban was the beginning of the full size SUV/people hauler. Originally for work crews, it turned into the big soccer mom vehicle. Ford Expedition, the Armada, and Sequoia all followed.

As for the 911, it HASN'T been copied. It stands alone.

They made the Altima look like the Maxima, it can be hard to tell which is which at first glance.
