No-frills drive, and old-age is starting to creep in.
(the air conditioner works, but vents water onto the floor by the passenger seat - occasionally something happens where the doors will automatically lock within a fraction of a second after I click the remote unlock, which makes opening the door in that fraction of a second an interesting exercise in timing, etc.)
But mostly, it performs well and is fairly cheap to operate.
And I'll keep driving it until one of the following happens:
*I get a job closer to home than my 50-mile/one-way commute (I just don't want to pay for a newer car only to put 30k/year on it - I'd prefer to keep subjecting that abuse to my older Altima)
*My three high-schoolers graduate and move out (it's nice just having to have liability insurance)
*It gives up the ghost (no sign of that happening anytime soon, and I have a fantastic mechanic who treats my vehicles as thought he is a long-time family doctor)
Split between a 2012 Toyota 4 Runner and a 2011 corvette grand sport convertible.
Like really...nearly 50/50 split, because I take my kid around in the 4Runner and the vette is to drive to work...unless it's raining or whatever.
A month ago we leased a 2013 Buick Encore... great car... very safe especially since we have a 4 month old and the gas mileage is great... 27 City - 32 Highway. Has all the bells and whistles included like Onstar, Sirius Radio, and voice recognition to change stations, make phone calls, and locate places to go.
Was easy for me because our vehicles are both Toyotas right now.
1992 2wd pickup, V6, auto, 230,000 miles. I look at new ones every so often, but it does what I need and still looks nice. If I had to pay someone to fix the occasional issues, I'd probably had got a new one years ago.
2010 Rav4, V6, AWD, 3500 lbs tow cap. A very efficient appliance to tow, carry our dogs, navigate our winter roads, and gets decent mileage. Also one of the fastest cars I've owned...pretty sad, huh.
2005 Toyota 4Runner about 128k miles on it now. Several trips from ATL to Miami & Orlando.
