At the risk of sounding racist or something, let me just say it: It's young black men who love these travesties.
While I have to admit I've occasionally seen a slammed car/truck tastefully done that I've liked, the only high car that does anything for me would be something like a '32 highboy roadster.
A B series Honda can make a lot of power to, whats your point? There is no stress in taking it to 8200 RPM's either
My point is the '68 Charger looks like a powerful, high-performance car and the Honda does not. No matter how much power (and money) the Honda is modified to make, it's still a Honda!
And taking an engine to 8200 rpms is more stressful than taking it to 5800 rpm (the typical redline of a 383-4 bbl Charger engine).

Any car thats been modified to make money is a good car in my opinion.
Here in the Lehigh Valley of eastern PA Ricers are common place.
When you see one in this area it's very safe to assume it's driven by a young male age 17-25, Puerto Rican or Dominican in decent residing in one of three cities inner city ghetto's that compromise the Lehigh Valley.
The cars are overwhelmingly mid to later nineties Honda's with high miles and a plethora of dents of varying sizes in the body of the car.
The fart can exhaust announces to the world that they better stay clear because Mr. Welfare is driving like an idiot.
The pre molded body kits are most likely never painted and are pulling away from the bumpers and beginning to warp.
Here on the eastern seaboard the rust around the wheel wells has taken it's toll five years ago.

not if that engine is built for those higher rpms, and Hondas are built for that.
And the whole generic "fart cans sound bad" ironically shows the lack of knowledge by whoever says that. Yes, different exhaust designs can give slightly different sounds on the same car, but by and large the sound that is coming out of the back is a direct result of the type of engine, not necessarily that it has a bigger pipe at the back. My WRX wagon has a 3 in at the back, and it sounds completely different than what most people associate with a fart can, which is either a weedeater or a hive of bees. A proper exhaust setup on a Subaru sounds absolutely nothing like that unless theyve switched to equal length headers.
I don't get it... why don't ricers simply put this money toward a newer, nicer vehicle? Don't they realize how class-less they look in their riced 1996 Civic with 100hp and a sky-high spoiler? It's akin to walking around with clown makeup -- you are impressing no one.
Ah, but in their circle they ARE impressing people. Their peer group appreciates that kind of thing, they're more impressed with the "show" than the "go". Fast cars generally cost more than cars that (some think) look fast. I don't like it, but they're not spending my money and they're not destroying cars that are in any way ever going to be classics or in short supply, so more power to them.
They're not really more ridiculous than the donks, or the full size low riders with dinky 13" wheels or people who put 44" mud tires on trucks that spend most of their life on the street, or brush guards on their new $50,000 SUV that will never see anything but pavement.
