Getting rid of my Saab 9-5 after 15 years. Looking at cars WITH A REPUTATION FOR RELIABILITY priced $25,000 and under. Cannot find any NEW car in the 25k and under price range that has the following features my Saab has. Any recommendations?
My Saab 9-5 has:
Power everything
Heated seats
Leather everything
12-speaker 200 watt Harmon Kardon sound system that still sounds AMAZING after 15 years
Great handling
Walnut interior trim
Excellent interior lighting
Fog lights
The reason I am buying new is because I plan to keep new car for 15 years just like my Saab.
With the reliability of today's cars, you can buy something that's 1-3 years old and not have to worry too much about reliability problems. We bought our car in August. It was about 18 months old and we didn't take the depreciation hit that the first owner did. That said the closet thing new would be a Focus Titanium, or Cruze LTZ.
Accord EXL has your requirements ... perhaps with the exception of the heated seats. Same with the Acura ILX.
Nissan Altima 2.5SL fits the bill as well.
I drove the Accord EXL (more than $25k by the way) and the sound system in the Accords, from the LX (horrific sound) to the EXL (less horrific sound), is atrocious. Really Honda should be ashamed of themselves trying to sell cars with such inferior sound systems.
I will try the Acura but I doubt that car will be 25k and under.

Truecar pricing in my area puts the Accord EXL (4cyl) and the ILX right at $25k. You know you can upgrade an audio system relatively inexpensively.
I do not recommend "upgrading" to aftermarket sound systems. They usually end up having problems.
The Outback has an excellent HK system and the acoustics in the car make the sound terrific. But I don't think it's 12 speakers.
