Back in September I bought a new BMW X5 M and it probably has been the most fun out of any car I have owned this far, it's packing 555 HP great handling nice tech, it's an SUV but not in the same size league as an escalade or range rover so I get the SUV benefits (seating position, space) without the drawbacks of the larger ones (crappy handling).
I will probably keep this car another 6-8 months but I'm already looking towards the future and as you can tell if you google the 2014 BMW X5 at least IMHO they have ruined it and it looks ugly now again IMO.
So my question is if you were in my shoes what would you consider as your next vehicle after this one? I really don't want to own 2 cars like a luxury car and a sports car, and this X5M has been great at fulfilling my 1 vehicle for all purposes, it's sporty but not uncomfortable, spacious but not too big, so I would like to ideally find something else like it for the next purchase, any ideas?
Porsche Panamera Turbo S if you don't mind the rear styling of the car. Nevermind, I googled the new version and it looks worse then prior model...a love or hate it car.
Just keep what you got and get a handling/suspension kit for it. It's not like its a good off road vehicle. Better shocks and springs will make it handle better. You may be able to get away with some adjustable struts and better sway bars.
If you're looking for a true sports car the x5 will never get there. Look into a Porsche or AMG maybe another BMW sedan M5 maybe. But SUV. Stick with what you got just make it handle better you already got the hp
It's the best vehicle that you've ever owned, you've only had it for 6 months, and you're already trying to decide what to buy next? I'd keep it as well.

You have an X5M, at $90K-plus (new), kept for about one year and imagine there will be sound advice for upgrades on this forum? Mmkay, nuh uh. This is the place of guys arguing the merits of Mustangs vs. Chevrolet, and what a bum deal it is to spend $5K on a winter beater.
Rennlist will tell you all about Porsche, Lambo-talk and Ferrari forums other marques, and of course that good old Roadfly with a 100K posts on BMWs back to '01 and before, when I remember following E46 M3 blown-engine posts as they happened (bad batch of engine parts in a few of them, c. November-December cars).
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo I test drive in '12 rocked my socks off, but how it measures to the X5M I know not. Great question for debate elsewhere.
