Which SUV has the most car-like feel in terms of ride and handling. I like SUV's because of being raised and looking down on the road and just having a little more room in general. I'm interested in a very soft ride where I don't feel the road. I'm also interested in something with minimal body roll during turns, good turn radius and something that is very easy to park. I'm not interested in a sport suspension or a racing type SUV. Based on this criteria, what would you recommend.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a pretty smooth ride. Turning radius is 37 feet. Body roll is a bit of an issue, but its nothing extreme. I've never found them difficult to park at all.
Maybe a Ford Explorer would be more up your alley? Its more of a cross over, and very car like. They really took the SUV out of them.
You want what's known as a "Crossover SUV," which is a cross between a truck-like SUV and a car-like station wagon. Basically, a crossover is a small-to-medium sized SUV with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and light-duty suspension that gives you a car-like ride and handling at the expense of off-road capability, towing capacity, and cargo weight.
There are lots of examples out there with varying degrees of car vs. truck traits. Examples would include Ford's Edge and Escape, Toyota's Venza, Highlander, and RAV4, Subaru's Forester and Outback, the Honda CRV, and the Lexus RX series.
Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru are known for the softest rides among the brands I've listed above, so you might want to start there.

Unfortunately body roll and soft ride goes hand in hand, hard to have one without other, especially for an SUV (the higher & softer, the more body roll).
Your going to have to just going to dealers and driving the car based crossover SUV's. I find the Subaru Outback in particular to be a very good driving SUV, as far as being car-like. Still, it's not as silky smooth as my Charger, but for an SUV it is very good.
Sounds like you want more of a crossover than an SUV.
