Not sure if serious

This valve is a tool that makes things easier, just like a cordless drill makes it easier to screw in screws or a breaker bar is easier to loosen rusted on bolts or just like a washer and dryer makes it easier to clean clothes.

And yes <gasp> I also have dedicated oil filter wrenches because many of the filters on the cars I maintain are hard to reach so I can't get full leverage with my hands. 3 cars with on average 2 oil changes a year means 6 times a year I have to change oil. Doesn't sound like a lot but if I didn't have these tools to help make the job easier (especially on cold winter days) it would make me consider taking it to quick lube place but I have no idea what oil or filters they use and I don't feel comfortable with that. I only use OEM filters with Pennzoil full synthetic. Now with these tools I don't mind doing oil changes because it is less work (some might say easier ) and I know what I put in my car.

I shouldn't have to apologize for wanting to make my job a bit easier especially when you have three cars at home to maintain. I work smarter, not harder

Don't be so dismissive before you try it. To me it's a game changer.

Wear the proper gloves. Besides, one would still clean the oil-drain pan after changing the oil while wearing gloves.

I don't need to replace the drain plug with a valve. The plug is not difficult at all to remove and reinstall. Maybe I am too old to change?

I can respect that. But I like the idea of never having to worry about oil on hands or garage floor. I like being efficient.
