Admittedly I never done mine by myself before and just finished doing spark plugs on my Subaru Legacy for the first time and it was pretty easy with the right tools. It started because one of my engine cylinder was misfiring with a ODB tool and idle hesitation issue I noticed on start up. After swapping a set of NGK Iridiums the misfire is gone after a week of driving and throttle response improved a lot.

On most 4cyl engines, plugs are one of the easiest things you can do. On my old Honda, I could change the plugs out in 10 minutes. Now, some V8s are known to have plugs that are not easily accessible.

Yeah the Subaru boxer engine(especially if your Legacy is one of the turbo ones) is one of the more difficult ones to do so if you found that easy you're all set.

How many miles do you have on your Subaru Legacy? Just trying to find at how many miles does one change spark plugs on a Subaru Legacy (non-turbo).

I was scared about 10 yrs ago and when the dealer quoted me $170-229 to replace 6 spark plugs, i spent $25 on 6 platinum plugs and took 2 hours to do it myself.
Learned that alot of things on cars can be done yourself, if you have time and now youtube videos and auto forums.

On most of our cars I'll change them. Some of them though it's not worth my time and I'll just take it to the dealership.
