When I had a Saturn, there was only one tire Discount Tire carried that fit my car. So that's what I got. It was cheap and it held up well to daily driving.

Buying tires for a truck is one time when you'll feel like you're going crazy with all the options (and the price!). A Saturn is easy to get tires for.

BTW, I agree with a couple brand comments above: Continentals are not 2nd tier, Generals are often good tires and good value...but the buyer should shop by brand/model, not just brand.[/quote]

I probably worded it poorly, was trying to imply that other tire brands put out very good tires at cheaper prices than the name brands that most people know- Copper/General/Continental vs. Bridgestone/Goodyear. Maybe 2nd tier advertisers is a better phrase...lol...

Unless you are getting performance tires I would not use Tirerack.... Just go to a local tire store, they will install and everything and give you some type of lifetime warranty on the road hazard, rotation, balancing, etc....

Besides being a great info and pricing source, Tire Rack i(.com) is often best for selection and pricing on a first time purchase of a mounted wheel/tire combo (e.g. winter tires).

If/after they are worn, replacing the tires at a local source is very competitive especially when rotation and other services are considered. I don't think I ever bought a plain ol tire there, but bought many wheel/tire packages.

Avoid tires made in China.
