Do they not teach in drivers' ed that the left lane is for passing and you should move over if you're not passing? What happened to the fast lane?

I see people get on the highway and move immediately to the far left lane and stay there. In some places there are signs "slower traffic keep right", but I had a conversation the other day and someone didn't even know about that rule! WTF?!

There's no doubt that lane discipline sucks in this country. Left-lane hogging is illegal in many states but nobody enforces it.

Ive yet to see that law enforced here in IL, and it drives me nuts. Not a day goes by where some clueless bunghole is clogging the passing lane.

If people learned proper road etiquette traffic would flow as the civil engineers designed it to. People are just too stupid to care about anything like this that its pointless to argue about it.

One of my biggest pet peeves is waiting at a stop light behind numerous cars... light turns green and it takes 45 seconds to actually start moving!!!! If people just all started moving at the same time there would be no issues with traffic flow, distance yourself more AFTER the intersection.

People driving under the speed limit.... dear God!!!!

Drives me insane as well!!!! I believe if you're not going ATLEAST 10 mph over the speed limit you have no business in the left lane.

I also hate getting boxed in!! Do people not realize that they are riding right next to you and you can't do anything?? I speed up-so do they, I slow down-so do they....aahhh so frustrating.

Even if you are doing 10 over, you still have no business in the left lane unless you're passing someone who's not, because you need to be out of the way of people who are doing 15 over so they don't think they'll need to pass you on the right as they approach.

Or riding in your blind spot!!!! just cruising along... !? I guess they're too busy eating their combo meal and talking on the phone while yelling at their kids and doing their make-up or shaving (it's not just ladies)

I have seen a few folks who passed quickly and moved over. I think that is what I saw, but I am not sure anymore .

With people being busy texting, emailing, learning their GPS and eating lunch it is a little presumptous of us who enjoy driving to expect these busy multitasking individuals to get out of the way.

Exactly!!!! I really hate driving now, if I could just ride I'd be so much happier! I live in Northern Va and we seem to have the worst drivers ever...but I'm sure that's what everyone thinks about where they live.
