I don’t know about you, but I have been driving for 22 years, and driving has never caused me a “problem”, in fact I like doing it.
I agree about the first part of your post, we are being encouraged to be more and more lazy and dependent on technology.

Remember the old playgrounds of the 60s, 70s and 80s? by todays standards it would almost criminal to build one or allow kids to use them, due to the dangers of sharp edges, etc. Safety is being pushed on us whether we like it or not, I think that is going to be how they spin the self drive switch, it will be seen as so much safer for everyone, eventually everyone will give in. seatbelts in cars went thru the same stages, and today its a law, they MUST be used...the reason behind this is safety.

Yeah I remember old playground equipment...remember how high you could actually go on a swing and slides that were actually fun?
Same thing going on...safety at the expense of freedom and fun.
